Did you know this about disposable diapers?
Disposable diapers in Germany end up as residual waste in incineration plants.
However, they cannot be completely burned. What remains is a toxic slag that is stored as hazardous waste in former mines.
This process incurs significant costs and environmental risks for our children's generation.
With Judes, we can prevent exactly that. And over 20,000 parents have already done so.
Normally, we do not offer price advantages - but we want to celebrate that we've already been able to prevent so much diaper waste. Would you like to try diapering sustainably with Judes? Then join in and give it a try! You'll see: It's super easy!
How diapering with Judes works? Simple.
In three steps, you save 1 ton of plastic waste.

Out of Love
Because it's incredibly relieving not to have to carry out a bag full of plastic diapers every day. Because it's a beautiful feeling to know that your baby has soft cotton against their skin instead of plastic. That the skin can breathe, that the hips are developing healthily, that their child can become diaper-free in a natural timeline.
From a deep connection. Out of love for our children.
Frequently Asked Questions about Judes
Our Poo Paper catches the stool. It thus separates the stool from the diaper and is then disposed of - just like with disposable diapers.
Our Poo Paper is a thin cellulose paper. It is fully compostable.
Tip: As long as your baby hasn't started on solid foods, you can also omit our Poo Paper.
We designed Judes so that washing and drying are as easy as possible.
You collect the used Judes in our diaper bag. As soon as you want to wash them, you put our diaper bag along with the diapers into the washing machine. You do not need to touch the used Judes again. The Judes diapers automatically come out of the diaper bag during the wash cycle.
You wash Judes just like your regular laundry at 60°C (140°F) and 1000 rpm. You can air dry them or use a dryer.
Washing takes 15 minutes per week (including hanging up and taking down).
This is similar to the amount of time spent shopping, restocking, and taking out the trash with disposable diapers.
We conducted a survey with over 2,000 parents. Some used disposable diapers, others used Judes. The result: The time effort with Judes was reported to be less (about 20 minutes a week) than with disposable diapers (about 30 minutes a week).
By the way: Children with Judes are on average almost 1 year earlier diaper-free than children with disposable diapers - this is also a result of our survey. Additionally, research suggests that diapering time with cloth diapers is shorter than with disposables.
No, because it works similarly to disposable diapers. Our Poo Paper catches your baby's stool. When removing the diaper, you can easily separate the stool from the inner diaper. Like a disposable diaper, you throw away the Poo Paper along with its contents.
The inner diaper goes into the diaper bag. Once the diaper bag is full, you put it along with the diapers into the washing machine. This way, you do not need to handle the used diapers again. The Judes diapers automatically come out of the diaper bag during the wash cycle.
Everything gets hygienically cleaned in the washing machine.
By the way: Storing them in our diaper bag is odorless. This surprises many because disposable diapers are known for their diaper smell. This is because disposable diapers are stored airtight in diaper sacks or diaper pails, which leads to unbearable odors in the apartment. Our diaper bag, in which the used diapers remain until washing, allows air to circulate, keeping the bathroom odorless.
Many of our parents even report that Judes contain leaks better than the disposable diapers they previously used.
Why is that?
The superabsorbent chemicals in disposable diapers can store a lot of moisture but not quickly. Therefore, for heavy wetters or runny breastfeeding stool, some of the fluid bounces off and leaks.
Organic cotton naturally absorbs very quickly, so Judes also contain well against breast milk stool and heavy wetting.
We use an innovative weaving that is highly absorbent. Judes are so effective at containing that they can be worn during the day and at night. Additionally, both our inner diaper and the outer shell have cuffs on the back and legs, which act as a double barrier.
No, with Judes, clothes in standard sizes fit.
A slim fit was very important to us when developing Judes. The fabric for our inner diapers is specifically woven for us: It is incredibly thin yet absorbent! Thus, we managed to ensure that Judes do not create as bulky a diaper bottom as many other cloth diapers do. However, it must be said fairly that Judes do have more volume than a disposable diaper. For almost all babies we tested Judes with, the normal pant size still fit.
Definitely thinner than other cloth diapers, Judes certainly are.
Our claim is that you do not need an instruction manual. With Judes, nothing needs to be folded or snapped; it's all self-explanatory. That's exactly why we founded Judes.
Yes, it's very simple.
Judes are designed to be firstly leak-proof and secondly space-saving. Thus, you can store the used Judes in our small diaper bag and wash them at home with the rest of the diaper laundry. Daycare centers also like to use Judes.
The real reason why diapers are dirty
A family spends €3,000 per child on disposable diapers and generates 1.2 tonnes of plastic waste. Every single disposable diaper, produced since 1949, still exists. Disposable diapers cannot be completely incinerated. The remaining toxic mass is embedded in concrete and disposed of in former mines.
